Milestones of District Interact, by DS Joseph Leung, District Interact Chair (2020-21)
In view of “Youth” is one of the main focus in this Rotary year, many Club Presidents are working very hard to strengthen their youth activities, the development of an Interact Club is one of the best ways to build their relationship with youths.
The District Interact Committee is so blessed and excited to see 3 Interact Clubs were chartered, they are Interact Club of Hong Kong Sing Benevolent Society Mrs. Aw Haw Secondary School, which is sponsored by Rotary Club of City Northwest HK; Interact Club of Sheung Shui Government Secondary School which is sponsored by Rotary Club of Kowloon East; and Interact Club of Ju Ching Chu Secondary School (Tuen Mun), which is sponsored by Rotary Club of Central Harbourfront. We are looking forward to having more Interact Clubs chartered within this Rotary year.
Apart from chartering Interact Clubs, many foundation works are vital to support a healthy District Interact, this year we are going to conduct more trainings and workshops with related stakeholders such as Interact Club Advisors, Interactors, Interact Schools etc. On 8th August, we conducted our 1st Online Training with Interact Club Advisors and eventually closed to 70 participants attended. We had the great pleasure to have many experienced Interact Club Advisors such as PP Rosa Pang from Rotary Club of Happy Valley who is the former District Interact Chair; Rtn Philip Leung of Rotary Club of Macau to share their wisdom and experience in managing their Interact Clubs. Last but not the least, we need to thank PDG Eugene’s advice, Rtn Duncan Tai of Rotary Club of Island Green as MC & Trainer; all District Interact Committee members’ support.
Our English session of Interact Club Advisors will take place on 3rd October with sharing from Mongolian Interact clubs and advisors.
