My Fellow Rotarians, I hope you are all safe and healthy. I am thankful to you and hundreds of Rotarians and their families and friends who over the years have given their time and talent. Rotarians have served as role models demonstrating not only leadership, characters, and the value of selfless service to the community, besides of monetary contributions to support The Rotary Foundation.
I, like many Rotarian leaders, find it invaluable to work with and serve alongside other organizations that are committed to assist in the development of our community services. The year 2020 has finally gone and a new year 2021 is just to start. COVID-19 has brought in so many changes in our lives. For Rotary, physical gatherings continue to be on hold, but online gatherings have been organised since more than 6 months ago. Thank you to the almost hundreds of Rotarians who took part. Although it has been tough for us to fundraising on many key items in The Rotary Foundation since the beginning of pandemic of COVID-19 almost one year ago, our DRFC members have done everything possible to achieve the full support from all Rotarians in our district. As Chairman, I need a strong motivation to collect donations for The Rotary Foundation, an organization provides large numbers of projects in serving the communities where in need. This is the best part of the job: turning the generosity of donors into a tangible benefit for Rotary. If you have not yet made your annual contributions of any, please make it online urgently before end of the Rotary Year 2020-21.
In January we have two more 100% PHF Club, making a total of 13. They are RC Kowloon Central, RC Mandarin HK, RC Queensway, E-Club Tamar, RC Golden Bauhinia H.K., RC Penha Macao, RC Causeway Bay, RC Happy Valley, E-Club Lantau, RC Amizade Macau, RC Island Green, RC Tsim Sha Tsui and RC HK Sunrise. At the end of January, our Annual Fund is US$491,931.65, Other Fund is US$190,486.50, Endowment Fund is US$16,000.00, totally US$698,418.15.
