 “CO-CREATE SMART PARK CHALLENGE CALL FOR DESIGN PROPOSALS” aims at facilitating sustainable development

Hong Kong, 26 November 2021 – Rotary International District 3450 and Cyberport co-organize a collaborative project to enhance park environment and promote sustainable development as well as environmental conservation, namely “Co-Create Smart Park Challenge” (CSPC). With reference to the Rotary Park at Tai Mo Shan and Cyberport Waterfront Park, the competition aims to recruit creative and feasible park design proposals that could be implemented in a smart park from young people and the general public including professionals from different background, to enhance the park environment for the public and echo Rotary International’s theme of “Serve To Change Lives”.

Around a hundred young people and professionals participated in site tours at Cyberport Waterfront Park

In order to allow the youth and the general public to learn more about the subject of the competition namely the Rotary Park at Tai Mo Shan and Cyberport Waterfront Park, site tours to Cyberport were arranged on 25 & 26 November 2021. The site tours were attended by the youth of Rotary International District 3450 including rotaractors and students from different universities, interactors, principals, teachers and students from various interact schools, Rotary-Adopt-A-School partnership program and other secondary schools. Professionals from the fields of architecture, landscape design, technology and youth development foundation also participated in the site tours.

Interact clubs are supported by their respective sponsoring clubs and District Interact Chair Past President Andrew Wong from Rotary E-Club of Lantau to join the competition and site tours.

Rotary International and Cyberport explore the smart park development with the youth

Led by Keith Chow, the District Governor of Rotary International District 3450, a group of host rotary clubs worked closely with Cyberport and Cyberport Startup Alumni Association. The two-day site tours hosted about a hundred young people and the public. Before the begin of the site tour, an interactive briefing was led by President Raymond Yeung, who is the President of Rotary Club of Golden Bauhinia Hong Kong and also the Vice-chair of Cyberport Startup Alumni Association. During the briefing, the competition details were introduced by Immediate Past President Francis Chan of Rotary Club of New Territories. It was followed by an introduction of Rotary Park at Tai Mo Shan by President Peter Lau of Rotary Club of New Territories using 360 image technology and an interactive site tour at Cyberport Waterfront Park led by President Raymond Yeung and the Cyberport team for all participants to explore together various aspects of smart park development such as environmental conservation, creativity and technology.

Keith Chow, the District Governor of Rotary International District 3450, and Henry, the District Interact Representative, participated the site tours in person to encourage more youth to join “CO-CREATE SMART PARK CHALLENGE CALL FOR DESIGN PROPOSALS” competition co-organized by Rotary International District 3450 & Cyberport. The competition is also supported by District Youth Service Committee of Rotary International District 3450 led by Chair Past President Menza Chu of Rotary Club of Soho Hong Kong and promoted to different youth bodies of rotary and the society.

About “CO-CREATE SMART PARK CHALLENGE CALL FOR DESIGN PROPOSALS”

CSPC is co-organized by Rotary International District 3450 & Cyberport to cultivate youngsters’ generic skills and their awareness of how to create a better and sustainable smart park by cementing the edges of sustainability, technology and living environment through recruiting creative proposals on innovative solutions, products or ideas that could address the sustainable development of smart park, which can in turn contribute to the sustainability of a better society.

Eligibility – the competition is divided into Student Group and Open Group. The Student Group is open to all students in local schools. The Open Group is open to all students in local tertiary institutions and the general public including professionals from different background. Participants shall form a group (minimum 3 members and maximum 6 members) to submit one proposal only. Company entries are not permitted.

Prize and Award of the competition – Certificates to all participants plus cash prizes (HKD 5,000 to HKD 15,000) to Champion, 1st and 2nd runner-up in both Student and Open groups.

國際扶輪3450地區與香港數碼港攜手構建智能公園

構建智能公園徵集設計方案推動可持續發展

香港,2021年11月26日 – 國際扶輪 3450地區和數碼港合辦「構建智能公園」比賽,以優化公園環境、推動環保及可持續發展。比賽以大帽山扶輪公園及數碼港海濱公園為題,旨在向青年人和普羅大眾(包括不同背景的專業人士) 徵集一些既可行、又具創意,而且能體現智能公園的設計方案,不但能為市民大眾改善公園環境,亦呼應國際扶輪「以服務改善人生」的主題。

約百多位青年人及專業人士一起參到數碼港海濱公園的實地考察

為了讓有興趣參加比賽的青年人和普羅大眾進一步了解大帽山扶輪公園及數碼港海濱公園,大會在2021年11月25及26日安排了兩場到數碼港的實地考察。考察團成員包括國際扶輪3450地區的青年成員,分別有來自各大專院校的扶青社社員及學生、中學扶少團及扶輪與校同行的中學校長、老師及學生。考察團中亦有來自建築、園境設計、科技及青年發展基金等不同界別的專業人士參與。

國際扶輪與數碼港與青年人一起探討智能公園發展

在國際扶輪 3450地區總監周基業帶領下,一眾協辦扶輪社與數碼港及數碼港創業學會通力合作,兩日的考察團共招待了約百多位青年人及公眾人士。出發實地考察前,香港金紫荊扶輪社社長兼數碼港創業學會副會長楊志豪主持了一個互動簡報會,期間,新界扶輪社剛卸任社長陳志雄介紹了比賽詳情。 隨後,新界扶輪社社長劉旭利用360影像技術介紹大帽山扶輪公園,楊志豪社長及數碼港團隊接著帶領大家在數碼港海濱公園進行了一個互動的實地考察,一起為大帽山扶輪公園及數碼港海濱公園探討環境保育、創意及科技等智能公園的各方面發展

國際扶輪 3450地區總監周基業與地區扶輪少年服務團代表Henry同學親身出席考察團,鼓勵更多青少年參加國際扶輪3450地區與香港數碼港合辦的「構建智能公園」比賽。比賽並獲得國際扶輪3450地區的青年服務委員會支持,在主席蘇豪香港扶輪社前社長朱漢威的協助下比賽,同時順利推廣到扶輪社以至社會上各不同的青少年團體。

關於「構建智能公園」比賽

「構建智能公園」比賽由國際扶輪 3450地區和數碼港合辦,比賽希望通過徵集一些在科技、可持續發展和生活環境方面能加強優勢,兼具創意的產品、構思或創新的解決方案,以應對智能公園在持續發展方面的挑戰,藉此訓練青年人的技能,亦可提升他們在這方面的意識,以構建更好及可持續的智能公園,繼而促進美好社會的持續發展。

參賽資格 – 比賽分別設有學生組及公開組。學生組只供就讀所有本地學校的學生參加。公開組則供就讀本地大專院校的學生和公眾人士 (包括不同背景的專業人士) 參加。參賽者須組隊 (最少三人及最多六人一組) 參加比賽,並為大帽山扶輪公園及數碼港海濱公園分別提交一份設計方案。比賽謝絕企業參賽。

比賽獎項 – 所有參賽者均可獲發證書,另外學生組及公開組的首三名會獲頒現金獎港幣5,000-15,000元。
