“SERVE TO CHANGE LIVES “

This is the annual RI Theme of RY 2021-2022. RI President Shekhar Mehta laid a strong emphasis upon that we must offer our community services, to help the needed and change the lives of those who are less fortunate.

Besides our fellow Rotarians who have been performing their duties all the time on services provided by the clubs, we can also invite our friends, family members, neighbours, or any other young adults to become RCC members of your clubs to join forces in helping our community services. No membership fee and meetings are required. The RCC membership are open to non-Rotarians from young adults to retirees. All Rotary Clubs can easily charter their own RRC, requiring only a minimum of 10 members.

RCCs ARE ACTIVE IN D3450

ACTION from RCC of Rotary Club of Bayview Sunshine HK

Members of Rotary Club of Bayview Sunshine HK and Rotary Community Corps (RCC) celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with the elderly on September 12, 2021

This is a long-standing joint project between the Rotary Club of Bayview Sunshine HK and Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service (BOKSS). The purpose of this project is to offer the elderly, especially those deprived or living alone in the catchment area of BOKSS, a fun filled afternoon close to Mid-Autumn Festival. A small gesture to brighten up their day. This is a two-part activity. Preparations of 300 care packages and a joyful afternoon of entertainment was made possible through the help of 15 Rotarians and RCC members. This year though, due to social distancing being enforced, the format was changed to a live streaming broadcast. The elderly was invited to six local social service centres to join the event. The care packages were handed to them by each centre coordinator. They all went home happily. This event couldn’t have been carried out seamlessly without our RCC members. Their hard work and contribution did not go unnoticed. To all our RCC members who have put in the hours quietly and selflessly, just know that you are greatly valued, and your efforts are making a difference. We serve to change lives. Thank you.

NEW RCC IS BORN

Let’s welcome our 2nd RCC of this year chartered on 10th September 2021, sponsored by Rotary Club of Peninsula Sunrise. Congratulations.

WHO’S NEXT?

Two Rotary Clubs have approached me in establishing a new RCC including Rotary Club of Mandarin HK and Rotary Club of Green HK. The more the merrier, any other Rotary Clubs wanting to charter an RCC?
