By CP Joseph Leung, District Interact Chair
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, many usual District Interact activities must be cancelled or transformed to difference mode such as IU (International Understanding) Trip, Interact Conference, we have no choice but to go for online via Zoom.
We learned from JIC (Joint Interact Council) members that they are very keen in Mental Health issue, and we understand it is important to maintain IU activities, therefore, with wisdom from PDG Eugene Fong, we take the liberty to integrate cultural differences with Mental Wellness as the topic of this year District Interact Conference. Eventually we have the great pleasure to invite few industry experts who are Rotary leaders and closed relationship with Rotary to share with us. They are Prof. Sally CHAN (President of Tung Wah College who is also the Honourable Member of RC Central Harbourfront); PP Elvo SOU who is Head of Student Counselling of the University of Macau and also Past President of RC Macau; PP Issac YIP who is Specialist in Psychiatry and also Past President of RC New Territories; and lastly we have Ms. Anthea LEE who is the Chief Executive of SRACP (Society of Rehabilitation and Corrective Prevention) and also a member of RC Central Harbourfront.
We are also very blessed that technology has bring us closer with Macau and Mongolia Interactors. They have done an amazing sharing on cultural differences in each place. We understand the Interactors have spent many hours to prepare, especially Mongolia Interactors. With leadership of PP Ariungoo, the Interactors have prepare many interesting questions for attendants to poll.
The entire event has attracted over 200 registrations and we have finally 160 attendants turned up. The event would never be a success without the support of our JIC Team, Interactors and their club advisors’ support.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank DG Eric and PDG Eugene generous guidance, District Interact Committee members’ support, JIC members’ strong engagement, all your contributions make this Rotary year becomes unforgettable.
